Terms & Conditions

TERMS & CONDITIONS

All clients must agree to the following terms and conditions as well as our instructions of use when hiring from Devon Tableware and Event Hire.  It is the clients responsibility to take charge of and care for all hired equipment and to ensure any other persons involved in using the hired items are aware of these terms and conditions.

PAYMENTS-

Once we have agreed the availability of your chosen items and the date of your event has been confirmed we will send you an invoice via email along with a paper copy and ask you to secure your booking.  To secure your booking you will be required to pay a non refundable deposit of 30% of the total of your invoice.  The remaining balance will be due 2 weeks prior to the date of your event. 

You can pay via BACS transfer or Paypal and you can find all of these details on your invoice.  If for any reason you do not pay the outstanding balance by the specified time agreed by both parties, Devon Tableware and Event Hire reserves the right to withhold the delivery of your items and cancel the booking.  You will still be liable to pay the total invoice balance in full as agreed.


CANCELLATIONS-

In the unlikely event that you need to cancel your booking you will be required to do so in writing by email or post within 2 weeks prior to the date of your event.  In the event of cancellation you will forfeit your non refundable deposit and you will be liable to pay the invoice in full if you do not cancel within 2 weeks prior to your event.

If some items were to be damaged or lost by another client before your event we would do our best to offer you a replacement.  If a replacement is not possible or suitable we would deduct the hire cost of said item/s from your invoice.


DELIVERY AND COLLECTION-

Delivery and collection costs are calculated from Berrynarbor, North Devon, UK and are subject to a minimum hire amount.  Our delivery service is currently FREE within an 8 mile radius on orders of £200 or over.

The hiring period for all items is for a 3 day period.  The items will either be delivered or collected the day before the event to ensure that there is plenty of time for the items to be received, unpacked and a smooth set up achieved.  Items are to be returned/collected the day after the event.  It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that everything is kept in a secure place and to ensure that the owners of the venue agree to housing any items that are hired from us until the event begins whether these are for indoor or outdoor use.

If there are any issues such as no parking, restricted parking, stairs or other access issues these should be reported to Devon Tableware and Event Hire prior to the event to enable us to make arrangements where necessary.

We will advise you on delivery and collection times in advance and agree this with you so that your representative can be present to sign the delivery/collection form.  We will require a contact telephone number and name of the person that will be taking collection of hired items in case we need to contact them for any reason.

Upon delivery it could take up to 30-45 minutes to unload and check the items off so please allow time for this.  Upon collection we expect all goods to be packed up and returned in a good order.  All crockery, cutlery, wood/slate boards and cake stands must have all food debris removed.  All drinking glasses, hot water urn, coffee jugs, tea and coffee pots, milk and water jugs must be completely emptied and dry.  Bunting must be returned in a neat and folded manner ready for the next event.  All table linen must be returned in good order and any stains will be charged for.  All outdoor games/props/peep boards must have any loose grass or soil removed.  All games whether indoor or outdoor (such as peep boards, sweet cart, props, drinks buckets, trays or display tables) must not be left out overnight to prevent weather damage.

When hired items are unpacked and set up in your desired location, all of the storage boxes and wrappings must be safely stored ready to be used when the event has finished.  All items should be repacked in good order into the labelled boxes that the items arrived in ready to be transported back to Devon Tableware and Event Hire.   A check list will be provided so that all items can be ticked off as they are being packed to prevent any discrepancies.


REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT AND DAMAGED ITEMS-

We spend a lot of time and effort ensuring that all of our tableware, games and props are of the highest standard for our customers.  We regularly check all of our stock for damage and wear and would appreciate if our customers could help us to do the same.  This is why a refundable deposit is required.  The refundable deposit will be agreed at the time of booking with the customer and will vary depending on the size of the order.  It will be returned within 5 working days after the event once all items have been counted and checked by Devon Tableware and Event Hire.  If all items are returned in good order and nothing is missing or damaged then the refundable deposit will be returned in full.  In the event of any damage, minor or major, the cost of this will be deducted from the refundable deposit.  All damaged items must be returned to Devon Tableware and Event Hire, please do not dispose of them.  In some cases where a trio set is hired (for example, a matching set of a tea cup with saucer and tea plate) if one of those items is damaged then a charge will be made for the whole set to be replaced.

Upon collection of the hired items, all items must be packed in good order and placed in one area ready to be transported.  If on arrival items are not ready and Devon Tableware and Event Hire is required to help finish packing then an hourly charge of for our time will be deducted from the refundable deposit.

A separate invoice will be sent detailing any remaining monies owed to/from the client in the event of any damage or in discrepancies.


CHARITY EVENTS AND PROMOTIONS-

When our items are hired for charity or fund raising events we may be able to offer a reduced price on the total cost.  This would be at our own discretion upon receipt of evidence of the registered charity and event.


HEALTH AND SAFETY-

Devon Tableware and Event Hire are a hire only company.  It is the full responsibility of the customer to ensure that all guests are made aware of our terms and conditions and that children are supervised when using our items.  Please ensure that children take care when using our glassware and when around all props, table centres, pillars, peep boards, indoor games and outdoor games.  There is to be NO climbing on/over or sitting on any of our props or larger framed games - this may cause them to break or collapse.  Customers will be made aware when hiring these particular items on how children (and adults!) can and cannot use them.

The following items are considered to be sporting activities:

Space Hoppers, Sack Racing, Hobby Horse Racing, Egg & Spoons, Skipping Ropes, Hockey Sticks, Tug Of War, Throw The Ball In The Bucket.

We do not accept any liability for any injury or damage caused during the use of these items and it is the clients responsibility to ensure that anyone using them is fully aware of the risks and the instructions of use.

Devon Tableware and Event Hire will not accept any responsibility for any injury or damage caused during the use of any item hired from us.  We will ask you to sign a waiver or liability before using our games which will be given either upon delivery or on collection.

PHOTOGRAPHS-

We would love to receive any photographs of your event with our hired items in use.  If you decide to share them with us we may ask your permission to use them in our advertising.  This will be entirely up to you and we will completely understand if you would rather not.  Likewise, you would need our consent if you wanted to use any of our photos containing our items/imagery for anything else than personal use.
